Printed Solutions is also PEFC® certified. The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which promotes the sustainable management of the world’s forests through third party certification.
Printed Solutions operate with consideration for the environmental impact of all of its activities. We aim to minimise our use of resources and source the most environmentally friendly options available. We seek to reduce the level of waste produced and to recycle that waste where facilities are available. This is achieved in the following ways:
Our stock coated papers are Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) and ISO 14001 certified as standard. This contributes to the reduction of chlorine, or chlorine compounds and water usage in the bleaching process.
Waste paper, out of date stock and off cuts are recycled. We send this to a local centre for reprocessing. The resulting material is made into tissues and hygiene products as well as recycled paper. Our printing plates are also recycled. We use refilled toner cartridges on our digital proofing machine and return used cartridges for refilling.
Printed Solutions transport our products with due regard to environmental considerations including the use of regularly serviced vehicles with diesel running engines.
We operate a communications strategy to educate our staff, customers and the wider community on environmental considerations and the choices open to them.
We operate in such a way as to reduce the use of resources and in turn to make the most efficient use of those resources used. We follow a process of ongoing development of procedures to further increase manufacturing efficiency and to limit waste particularly with regard to energy and water consumption.
